Cleanest Avus blau
Long time no see, friends. The time has come when it is necessary to revive it here again and start informing you about the domestic and foreign scene. What do you think? And so today we’re going to get one of the foreign cars, which caught my attention because of how clean the OEM+ it is. Today we will talk about the BMW E36 from Nico. I discovered this car while browsing the reels for a long time, and then when I saw Nico’s profile, I immediately thought that we could write something about it. Nico agreed and so here we are and you can enjoy this short but to the point interview about this great coupe.
Watch Nico here! Quite a few photographers took care of the photos this time, and since the vast majority of them are from Germany, watch how they can do it with the camera. Fcked up Focus (I couldn’t find him/her on Instagram, if anyone knows, hit me up), Auto_Fahndungsfotos, Marcello’s Motor Moments Photography, Muehling Automotive, UMO Media, Gina Schnitte, alex_w3ber, Moritz_Rckd. Only thing left to say is read, share and Enjoy!
Hi there! At first tell us who are you, where do you live and what are we going to talk about?
Hey, my name is Nico. I’m from Cologne, Germany and we talk about my car. BMW E36.
How long have you been the owner, how did you get to the car?
I bought the car in May 2022. I was looking for an E36 on the internet and the owner messaged me privately, in a group on Facebook, that he might sell his.
Why this car?
Because I love BMW and the model E36. Once you have an E36 it’s like pure nostalgia. For me when you sit in an E36, you feel like you’re traveling back in time to the 90s.
When was the first modification made?
First one was an exhaust system, made out of stainless steel.
What was the last modification of the car?
My hifi audio system expansion on my rear seat.
The cheapest and most expensive modification?
The most expensive modification was the repainting, including widening. We did restoration as a whole. Everything from the outside and inside is new, except for the engine and axles, which are still in ”factory” condition.
The cheapest modification was pedal pads.
Do you solve the modifications on the car yourself, or do you put it somewhere in the garage / service?
So far I’ve done everything myself except for a few difficult things that I have no idea about. I have my colleague who is an automotive mechatronics engineer and knows how it works.
What made you start modifying your car?
I love converting cars and individualizing them the way I like.
The best and worst experience with your car?
The worst experience was when I bought the car and took off the sill covers and saw the rust.
And the best experience with the car was that I met a lot of new, nice people through it.
What do you prefer? Power or stance?
Currently there is still a coilover suspension in it but this month it will be converted to an air suspension. So probably stance.
Current car setup? Interior / Exterior / Engine / Chassis / Wheels / Audio / Other modifications
Interior: alcantara and carbon parts, Wiechers clubsport cage, custom hifi rear seat expansion
exterior: maxton rear diffusor, sideskirts, gt corners, custom sport exhaust, class 2 rear spoiler
Engine: 328i m52b25
Chassis and wheels: ST suspensions coilovers with styling 37 wheels from BMW E31 in 8×18 is 13 and 9,5×18 is 25
Audio: Rear set custom expansion from Hifonics and audio system Pioneer
Body: Body was widened, carbon parcel shelf, front Japanese strip with magnetic license plate holder, rear window conversion from 3rd brake light to without brake light, Speedometer conversion to red pointers with M logo, and many little things such as headlights, kidneys, indicators, all seals, washers, small parts on the outside, completely new, cooling system, new injectors
ECU programmed with loud cold start and deactivatable fuel cut-off
Will you reveal what are the next plans with the car?
As I mentioned before, next plan is an air suspension and retrofiting the cruise control.
Where do you get your inspiration from? Do you do things yourself, or do you get inspired by foreign countries?
I take inspiration from my dreams and ideas and also from social media if I like something.
What’s your daily car?
Fiat (Duplo) Doblo.
Do you have any other cars?
No. Only Fiat and the E36 for car meets and good weather.
At what events can we see your car?
On German car meets and at Stance Adria in Croatia.
What is your dream car that you would like to build?
That would be a realistic dream a BMW F82 M4 or a BMW F80 M3.
Do you know of anyone who deserves to have an article about his car here?
Yes! Frozen_F87
What would you recommend, tell novice enthusiasts about car modifications? What do you think is the ideal start?
I would say don’t buy cheap shit otherwise you’ll buy twice, start with small things and work up to bigger ones, and be clear that tuning is worth the money.
What would you like to say in conclusion?
Not everyone likes tuning or understands the meaning behind it, but I really enjoy it and it makes me very happy, and you shouldn’t hate other cars because they don’t suit your taste.
Thanks for your time and I wish you a lot of success, not only with modifications, in the future!
